Consultant, teacher and writer, Jeanne
Sawyer specializes in solving expensive
chronic problems such as those that cause
customers to consider taking their
business elsewhere. Her pragmatic approach
demonstrates measurable results, and the
problems stay solved.
Jeanne has saved her clients millions of
dollars and kept them off the front pages
by leading them through problem solving
projects on particularly complicated
problems and helping them incorporate
systematic methods into their business
processes. She has published a number of
articles using some of those examples to
explain specific aspects of problem
solving, and her book will be published
later this year.
Everyone needs to have effective problem
solving skills, so she developed a series
of workshops and seminars to teach her
methods to others. In addition to in-house
workshops for individual companies, she
teaches a seminar on problem solving in
Silicon Valley for the University of
California Extension, Santa Cruz.
Jeanne developed her techniques by
combining what she learned from the formal
disciplines of computer science and
quality with the trial-and-error
experience of solving real problems. She
holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in computer science
and an M.S. in Library Science from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. Her bachelor's degree in Chemistry
is from Duke University.
